ABOUT OPERATIONS AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT CONCENTRATION

The Operations and Supply Chain Management (OSCM) concentration prepares students to effectively and efficiently manage resources, processes, and quality in order to satisfy customer expectations in the challenging environment of global competition. The concentration synthesizes global operations, purchasing, logistics, and distribution into a cohesive strategy that will enable the student to substantially increase efficiency and reduce waste of resources in organizations and their supply chains. The concentration provides education in modern theories, business practices, and applications associated with the successful development and management of supply chains in service and manufacturing. Students in this concentration will develop in-depth knowledge and specialized skills in utilizing modern methods of project management, service operations management, enterprise resources planning, lean management and six-sigma quality, supply chain planning, logistics, procurement and purchasing, strategic sourcing, and e-commerce supply chains. Upon completion of the OSCM concentration, students will be capable to get employed at a wide range of middle- to upper-level management jobs in service and production operations analysis, planning and scheduling, quality management, logistics, sourcing, and purchasing/procurement. Our OSCM graduates successfully work in major U.S. and multinational companies like AT&T, Cisco, Chevron, Clorox, Genentech, Intel, Oracle, Safeway, and Visa, as well as in a number of small and medium-sized service, manufacturing, and non-profit organizations.
