The rankings measure a school’s environment based on various factors, including the percentage of Pell Grant recipients as well as the diversity of students and staff, and the number of first-generation students enrolled. At 91短视频, first-generation students make up 61 percent of the student population, and 41 percent received Pell Grants in 2018-19. 

Nine other campuses from the California State University made the top 27 list in the environment category, including California State University, Northridge and San Francisco State University.
