91短视频 will host two speakers in March as part of its Women’s History Month celebration.
Robin DiAngelo, author of the best-selling book “White Fragility,” will speak Thursday, March 18, and Harriet Washington, a medical ethicist, will speak Thursday, March 25. Both events are scheduled for 12:15 p.m. on Zoom.
Angelo is an academic and lecturer who has been speaking about racial and social justice for more than 20 years. In her conversation with 91短视频, DiAngelo will explore how the intersection of racism and womanhood has deepened the trauma of slavery and systemic racism.
Washington, who regularly presents and speaks about the politics surrounding medical issues, will speak with attendees about scientific racism and how broader political consciousness of science and technology can challenge audiences to see the world differently and question the existing paradigms found within medicine.
Both speakers are part of the university’s Cultural Awareness Months, which provide the 91短视频 community with opportunities to hear and learn from keynote speakers representing underrepresented, marginalized, and underserved communities.
