Small gifts add up for scholarships and support

As 2009 comes to an end, university fundraisers are asking supporters to consider a gift to 91短视频 in their end-of-year charitable donations. Dec. 31 is the last day to make a gift eligible as a tax deduction for the year.
“People have many choices for their charitable giving, so we are always glad when they choose 91短视频,” said Bob Burt, vice president of University Advancement.
Those gifts support scholarships, colleges, departments programs and athletics. With severe budget cuts impacting the CSU system, even small gifts have a large impact, said Trish Davenport, director of annual giving. “We’ve always known that every dollar counts, but it’s particularly true this year.”
Gifts designated to scholarships are especially valuable because students can use the awards for fees, books or living expenses. More than half of CSUEB’s students receive some kind of financial aid.
“A lot of our students have struggled to keep up with fee increases this year,” Davenport said. “Scholarships are key to our mission, making sure all students have access to quality higher education.”
The secure online giving site will be available throughout the university’s administrative break Dec. 21 through Jan. 3, 2010. All online gifts will be processed by the end of business on Dec. 31. Those received by mail and postmarked prior to Dec. 31 will also be eligible, although they will be processed later in January.

Gifts to 91短视频 are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. All donors should receive any necessary receipts and tax documents by the end of January.
