The musical, "Chicago," the Annual Art Faculty Exhibition, a never-before-seen model train exhibition, and the annual Yoshi's student scholarship fundraiser headline the winter arts scene at 91短视频.

The Theatre and Dance Department is thrilled to have garnered the rights to "Chicago," still in production by several professional companies across the country.

"I wonder whether the broad appeal of 'Chicago' results from its interesting combination of both traditional and contemporary qualities," said Thomas Hird, professor and chair of the Theatre and Dance Department.

"The structure, music, and dance are expressed in the latest styles, but the characters and lyrics almost remind you of Broadway's glory days. This will be a perfect showcase for our many talented students," he said.

"Chicago" plays between March 5 and 14.

Twenty art faculty and staff are contributing pieces to the Annual Art Faculty Exhibition that opens Jan. 26. Among them is Scott Hopkins, an associate professor of electronic art, who will show three images reflecting social consciousness. All look at walls that divide people from each other, and raise the question, "Why?" said Lanier Graham, lecturer and gallery director.

The C.E. Smith Museum of Anthropology exhibition, "All Aboard! The Impact of Trains on American Culture," will cover the history of trains in America, the construction of the railroads, and the roles they've played through an extensive collection of pre-World War II, tinplate toy trains of various gauges from the estate of Richard O. Wheeler of Monrovia. The museum will open March 5 and show weekdays through June 11.

Winding up the winter offerings will be the 11^th annual Music Department scholarship fundraiser at Yoshi's Jazz Club at Jack London Square in Oakland March 16. CSUEB jazz students will perform along side a name artist.
