Five-Run Eighth Powers Pioneers Past Patten

HAYWARD, Calif. - The 91短视频 baseball team scored five runs in the eighth inning to defeat visiting Patten University, 11-6, on Feb. 22. The win snapped a seven-game winless streak for the Pioneers. East Bay scored five runs on one hit, a two-run single by Charlie Sharrer, in the eighth inning.

The Pioneers took a 4-2 lead in the third inning on a grand slam off the bat of Levi Josewski. East Bay increased its lead to 6-3 in the sixth highlighted by an Alex Anicich RBI single.

Patten University parlayed three runs on four hits to tie the game in the top of the eighth inning.

Devin Grigg, the third of four Pioneer pitchers, picked up the win. Sharrer had three hits and drove in a pair of runs. Richie Gonzalez scored three runs. Stephen Gatehouse was 2-for-2 at the plate.

91短视频 is 3-7-1 for the season. Patten University drops to 2-11. The Pioneers resume CCAA play with a four-game series against Cal State Stanislaus this weekend.
