Pioneers Cap Regular Season with Dual Meet Victory Over Mills

OAKLAND, Calif. - The Pioneer women's swim team received  outstanding individual performances in a 137-49 dual meet victory over Mills College on January 29.

Olina Wibroe-Benson was a double winner in the 50 yard freestyle (26.58) and 50 yard backstroke (30.99).  Sami Hernandez was also victorious in two events: 50 yard breastroke (36.67) and 200 yard freestyle (2:07.39).

The Pioneers had three other first place finishes: Sarah Hurtubise-100 yard individual medley relay (1:09.94), Brenda O'Connor-100 yard freestyle (1:01.12), and Melissa Grottkau-500 yard freestyle (5:56.45).

Cal State East Bay swept both relays including the 200 free relay. The foursome of Hernandez, Benson, Jill Lothian, and O'Connor won in the time of 1:49.80.
