  • April 23, 2010

Plans have been announced by California Public Utilities Commission to install four 1.4 megawatt fuel cells in state universities in California.

The projects will be undertaken by Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) and Southern California Edison Company. FuelCell Energy Inc expects to work with the utilities to finalise contracts.

PG&E will install fuel cells at California State University-East Bay and San Francisco State University, where the plan is to use the heat generated for swimming pools.
