The 91短视频 fall sports teams find themselves out of town for the second straight weekend. The Pioneer women's soccer team will look to build on back-to-back wins last weekend as it takes on San Francisco State at 3 p.m. on Friday and Cal State Monterey Bay at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday. Their men's counterparts will also make the trip looking to continue their success after notching its first CCAA win last week. The Pioneer men will meet the Gators at 12:30 p.m. on Friday and the Otters at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the women's volleyball team will be looking to get back on track after dropping two straight last weekend. The Pioneers head to Cal State Stanislaus on Friday night before taking on Chico State on Saturday with both matches scheduled for 7 p.m. first serve. The Cal State East Bay harriers are back in action after a two-week break from competition, traveling to Santa Barbara for the 30th annual Westmont Invitational. East Bay's men's and women's golf teams will play in their second tournaments of the season starting Monday, with the men traveling to Bellingham, Wash., for the Western Washington Invitational and the women hitting the links in the desert at the Grand Canyon Invitational in Avondale, Ariz. Pioneers Look to Rebound to End Road Swing: The 91短视频 volleyball team closes out its longest road trip of the season this weekend, as it travels to Cal State Stanislaus and Chico State looking to bounce back from a pair of tough losses last weekend. The Pioneers (8-2, 2-2 CCAA) take on the Warriors on Friday at 7 p.m. before meeting the Wildcats on Saturday at 7 p.m. CSUEB enters the week in a tie for fourth in the conference standings after dropping their first two matches of the season following a five-set triumph over then-No. 11 UC San Diego to open the trip.
Last Week: 91短视频 won its third straight CCAA match and eighth consecutive contest to open the season when it toppled then-No. 11 UC San Diego in five sets on Sept. 15 in La Jolla. The win marked the Pioneers’ second over a nationally ranked opponent since returning to Division II last year and saw freshman Katie Allen and sophomore Brianna Bryant combine for 34 kills, while Roxanne Neeley posted a triple-double with 11 kills, 21 assists and 19 digs. The Pioneers then traveled to San Francisco State and Cal State Monterey Bay, where they fell to both teams in four sets, ending their winning streak and picking up two conference losses.
Looking Ahead: The Pioneers return home after their five-game road trip next week, playing host to Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State LA on Oct. 1 and Oct. 2, respectively. The matches open a four-match homestand that will also feature Cal Poly Pomona and No. 5 and 2009 national runner up Cal State San Bernardino.
Watching the Warriors: Cal State Stanislaus is tied with 91短视频 for fourth with a 3-2 record in CCAA play and a 6-4 mark overall. The Warriors are coming off a midweek road sweep of travel partner Chico State. Stanislaus has won two straight matches and is looking to repeat last year’s home win over the Pioneers. The two teams split their two matches in 2009.
Checking Out Chico: The Wildcats opened the season with a 7-2 record before being swept in back-to-back matches by Sonoma State and Cal State Stanislaus, heading into this weekend’s matches. Chico State is 2-3 in conference play and looking to bounce back against a Pioneer team that it split with in 2009, with both squads winning their home matches.

91短视频 Looking to Continue Success on the Road: The 91短视频 men’s soccer team will head out for the final two games of a four-game road trip this weekend, traveling across the Bay to meet San Francisco State on Friday at 12:30 p.m. before taking on Cal State Monterey Bay at 2 p.m. on Sunday. The Pioneers (2-5-0, 1-3-0 CCAA) posted their first conference win of the season last week and will be looking to build on that success this weekend.
Last Time Out: The Pioneers are coming off a 1-1 weekend that saw them fall to Sonoma State despite shutting out the Seawolves for the entirety of the second half before topping Humboldt State, 3-1, to notch their first CCAA victory of the season. 91短视频 got the game winner from sophomore Michael Dowson and saw Bryce Bookhamer return in goal to make 12 saves and earn his second win of the year. The victory ended the Pioneers’ five-game losing skid and a 512-minute scoring drought.
Looking Ahead: 91短视频 returns home for the first time in three weeks on Oct. 1 when it plays host to Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State San Bernardino to open a three-game homestand. The Pioneers will welcome Notre Dame de Namur on Oct. 5 in its final nonconference matchup of the season.
Grading the Gators: San Francisco State carries a 2-3-1 overall record and 0-3-1 mark in CCAA play into Friday’s matchup. The Gators came from behind twice in a 2-2 draw with No. 11 Cal State Dominguez Hills after falling to No. 1 Cal State LA last weekend. SFSU will be looking for a repeat of last year’s 4-1 victory over East Bay in the teams’ only meeting in 2009.
Measuring Monterey Bay: The Otters come into the weekend looking for their first win of the season after going 0-4-1 overall and 0-3-1 so far in the CCAA. Cal State Monterey Bay gave up a combined total of eight goals in losses to No. 1 Cal State LA and No. 11 Cal State Dominguez Hills last week. In 2009, CSUMB opened the conference season with a 2-0 victory over the Pioneers in Hayward.

Pioneers Set to Build On Back-to-Back Wins: The 91短视频 women’s soccer team will close out its first CCAA road swing this weekend as it travels to San Francisco State on Friday at 3 p.m. before heading south to take on Cal State Monterey Bay on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. The Pioneers (4-2-1, 2-2-0 CCAA) will look to continue their two-game winning streak that started last week with a pair of conference wins on the road.
Last Time Out: The Pioneers picked up back-to-back CCAA victories with wins over Sonoma State and Humboldt State last week. East Bay played 80 minutes of scoreless soccer with the Seawolves before senior Michelle Garcia put away the game winner on Friday. Sunday, the Pioneers took an early 2-0 lead and held on for the 2-1 victory over the Jacks in Arcata.
Looking Ahead: 91短视频 returns to Pioneer Stadium for the first time since Sept. 12 when they host Cal Poly Pomona on Oct. 1. East Bay will then welcome No. 14 Cal State San Bernardino on Oct. 3 before hitting the road for another two-game trip.
Scouting San Francisco State: SFSU is coming off a 1-1 weekend that saw it upset then-No. 7 Cal State LA, 2-1, before falling to Cal State Dominguez Hills in Carson. The Gators are 3-2-1 overall and 2-2-0 in conference and will be looking to improve on last year’s scoreless draw with the Pioneers in the teams’ lone meeting.
Observing the Otters: The Otters enter the weekend 1-5 overall and 0-4 in CCAA play. CSUMB is coming off a pair of losses at Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State LA last week and has scored just three goals on the year. Last season, Monterey Bay got the best of East Bay in the teams’ only meeting, topping the Pioneers, 3-1, in Hayward.

Pioneers Head to the Beach for Westmont Invitational: 91短视频 will travel to Santa Barbara for the 30th annual Westmont Invitational this weekend. The Pioneers return to action after a two-week break from competition following the Cal State Stanislaus Invitational on Sept. 11. Last year, the CSUEB women took third and were led by Megan McDaniel’s eighth-place showing, while the men took ninth with Francisco Pulido leading the way in 39th place.
Last Time Out: The Pioneers traveled to Turlock on Sept. 11 for the Cal State Stanislaus Invitational and saw the women take third and men finish fourth overall. Sophomore Megan McDaniel led the women, taking fourth in the field of 35 runners, with a 6k time of 23:18. Erik Rodriguez paced the men, completing the 8k course in 28:42 for a 17th-place showing.
Looking Ahead: 91短视频 travels north to Portland, Ore., next weekend for the Charles Bowles Invitational at Willamette University, before taking a week off from action. The Pioneers will return to the trails again on Oct. 16 at the Bronco Invitational in Santa Clara.

Pioneers Look to Build Momentum in Washington: Coming off a second-place showing in its season opener last week, the 91短视频 men’s golf team will look to continue its success this weekend, when it travels to Bellingham, Wash., for the Western Washington Invitational. The Pioneers will meet 14 other teams including 2009 NCAA third-place finisher Chico State, Sonoma State, UC San Diego and Cal State Monterey Bay in the tournament beginning on Sept. 27 at the Bellingham Golf and Country Club.
Last Time Out: The Pioneers opened the fall season with a second-place showing at the Sonoma State Invitational earlier this week. Wes Davis’ two-over 218 was good for a tie for fifth and led the team, while Nick Allen debuted for East Bay with a seventh-place tie and three-over 219. Through the three rounds, the Pioneers never dropped lower than third place overall in the five-team tournament.

91短视频 Travels to Grand Canyon Invitational: Fresh off their season-opening outing at the Sonoma State Invitational, the 91短视频 women’s golf team will head to Arizona for the Grand Canyon Invitatoinal beginning Monday at the Coldwater Golf Club in Avondale, Ariz. The Pioneers will be looking to build on last week’s seventh-place performance in Santa Rosa.
Last Time Out: The Pioneer women’s golf team finished in seventh place at the Sonoma State Invitational earlier this week, recording a new program-best with a team score of 318 in the second round on Monday. Freshman Deanna Tyndall shot a three-round score of 19-over-par 235 to lead all 91短视频 golfers. Tyndall, who fired a one-over par-73 in the first round, tied with two other golfers for 17th overall.
