University recognizes faculty members at honors convocation

Cal State East Bay honored members of its faculty at the 2011 Faculty Honors Convocation held Feb. 24 in the New University Union on the Hayward Campus.

Honorees include the recipient of the outstanding professor award for 2009-10 and faculty who were awarded tenure effective Fall 2010. Others are those who completed 25 years of service as of Fall 2010 and those who were awarded emeritus status in 2010.

A highlight of the event was the presentation by Jeffery Seitz, recipient of this year’s George and Miriam Phillips Outstanding Professor Award.

The program began with a processional of the award recipients and the President’s Platform Party and concluded with a reception.

Faculty members to be recognized for the new tenure or emeritus status were presented with the University Medallion.
