Water Polo Falls To 91短视频, 14-8

HAYWARD, Calif-  91短视频 opened things up with a five-goal third quarter to defeat Sonoma State 14-8 in a WWPA water polo match Friday afternoon in Hayward.  The Seawolves drop to 2-7 on the year with the loss.The Seawolves kept the score close in the first half, entering the break down two at 7-5. 

It was in the third quarter that things began to unravel, as the Pioneers found the net five times to open up a 12-7 lead.  A one-goal fourth quarter didn't provide the punch Sonoma needed to pull off a comeback.Sonoma State had three players with two goals apiece.  Natalie Del Carlo scored twice in the first, Kyleigh Shea twice in the second, and Bridgette Souza twice in the third.  The Seawolves' other goals came from Cari Albers and Jessica Stansfield.

Taylor Basso earned her first start of the year and made eight saves in front of the net.Sarah Grunberger tallied four goals for the Pioneers, who improve to 2-1 on the season.  Jayme Pekarske was credited with 12 saves.  The Seawolves return to action next weekend when they head to La Jolla for the UC San Diego Invitational.
