Faculty encouraged to attend 'Back to the Bay' Thursday

91短视频 will host the annual professional development get-together, Back to the Bay, this Thursday (Sept. 15). It begins at 9:30 a.m. and will be held in the Valley Business and Technology Center.

Interim President Leroy Morishita and James Houpis, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs, will help kick-off a day of exciting sessions on technology, new tools for teaching and learning, and effective networking with a variety of academic support services.

"We encourage everyone to attend," said Linda Dobb, interim associate provost. "Staff wishing to attend should make sure they have their supervisor's approval."

This annual event is presented by CSUEB and sponsored by Faculty Support Services and Faculty Governance: Faculty Center for Excellence in Teaching; Online and Hybrid Support Center; and Media and Academic Technology Services.

Since 2003, Back to the Bay has been bringing faculty together to share their expertise, and learn from other campus experts, about a range of topics of interest to faculty in their roles as teachers, advisers, researchers, users of technology, and active participants in the campus community. This year's Back to the Bay will offer a variety of workshops on pedagogy, research, governance, and teaching with technology in the university's state-of-the-art facilities.
