Cal State East Bay senior has been named Female Division II National Swimmer of the Week by CollegeSwimming.com for Oct. 19-25. She is the first Pioneer ever to claim the award.

Hauanio turned in a fantastic performance in leading East Bay to a first place finish at the Bay Area Invitational. She took home victories in all four of her individual races, and she swam in two first-place relays for the Pioneers.

She captured the 100-yard backstroke in 58.72 and the 200 backstroke in 2:05.50. She also took top honors in the 100 butterfly with a time of 58.64, and she out-touched teammate in the 50 freestyle by six-tenths of a second for a winning time of 24.12. In all four of Hauanio's wins, the Pioneers boasted the second-place finisher as well.

The Hawaii native also helped East Bay capture first place in the 400 medley relay (4:00.09) and the 200 freestyle relay (1:39.62).

Through two meets in the 2015-16 season, Hauanio has won every race she has entered. In two weeks, she and the Pioneers will travel out of state for a pair of dual meets with conference rival Alaska on Nov. 13 and 14.
