91短视频 will host its annual Education Summit Saturday, Feb. 13. The event is part of a longstanding outreach effort to increase the number of first-generation, African American, Latino, Asian American, Native American and Pacific Islander students who go to college.

The summit will take place from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in the university gymnasium on the Hayward campus.

Fifteen workshops and motivational presentations will be offered in addition to a college information and resource fair and campus tours.

The Education Summit will bring together a wide range of community resources and expertise to empower first-generation youth and their families. Parents and families, high school and middle school students, school administrators, teachers, counselors, and business and community leaders are encouraged to attend.

Topics to be covered in summit workshops and panels include student life experiences on campus, college admissions, financing a college education through grants, scholarships and financial aid, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) careers, and community support programs.

The college resource fair will feature representatives of other California State University campuses, community colleges and community outreach groups.

The summit is co-sponsored by 91短视频, Alameda County Office of Education, Hayward Chamber of Commerce, Chabot College, Laney College, College of Alameda, the Contra Costa County Office of Education, the U.S. Department of Education through its “Asian American-Pacific Islander Student Service Operation for Success” (AANAPISI) grant program, the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California, Cash for College, PepsiCo., and the Peralta CC District.
