CSUEB Working with ERP Analysts to Finalize Semester Conversion Process

  • January 4, 2017

As 91短视频 faculty and staff continue progressing toward semester conversion, the university has begun working with the independent consulting firm ERP Analysts to help navigate the more complex nuances of bringing an entire school from quarters to semesters.

“ERP was selected to provide technical support for each of the quarter campuses that are implementing a semester conversion,” said Glen Perry, technical manager of the semester conversion initiative.

Semester conversion at CSUEB will be complete in fall 2018. Cal State Los Angeles and Cal State Bakersfield went to semesters this fall and San Bernardino is expected to convert in fall 2020, Perry said.

In most cases, ERP Analysts is working to update CSUEB’s PeopleSoft program, which is an enterprise database system that handles data related to students from the “prospective” stage through graduation and beyond.

Several students, particularly those being admitted in the coming months, will straddle the quarter to semester change timeline, so Perry said it’s important to make sure their units all convert accurately to semester equivalents and GPA values are unchanged. There will be information added to CSUEB transcripts that explains the transition.

He said faculty, staff and ERP Associates representatives will have a busy next 12 months to allow for testing of the various new systems and processes. So far, everything remains on track for fall 2018.

“To complete the transformation and conversion, we’ll need to go into user testing by June 2017,” Perry said. “We’re currently on timeline and the project teams are working very hard and diligently to prepare the tools required for student advisement and enrollment.”
