The school year is well underway as we finish the seventh week of classes. As we continue to engage and provide for our students, we have adapted with activities and opportunities such as an online trivia night, a virtual 5K with ASI and the HOPE pop-up pantry offering grocery pick up to the campus community from Lot D. The ability to pivot under changing circumstances and even environmental challenges has been our strength. I am very proud of the work our faculty and staff have accomplished and appreciate the engaging and innovative programming being offered to our students.

As you saw in last week's message, the deadline for California residents to register to vote is . Everyone will receive their ballot by mail and it is strongly recommended to return the ballot early--either by dropping off at a ballot box location, such as the one at the Hayward campus outside the New Union or through the mail. Encourage your students, colleagues, friends and neighbors to participate in this year’s election by registering to vote.

While that the Census deadline might be extended through the end of October, I encourage everyone to complete the Census as soon as possible. I completed mine online in just a few minutes and it is a very simple process.
