Student Services Center
Services provided by the CLASS Student Services Center include:
- advising all CLASS students on breadth (GE and overlays) and other non-major graduation requirements.
- connecting all students to their major department, their faculty or major advisors, and other campus resources
- sharing general information about all major and minor programs in CLASS and assisting with change of major/minor forms
- assisting with student registration forms and procedures, such as late add, late drop, late withdrawal petitions, and special registration petitions.
How Do I Find My Advisor?
Look on your Bay Advisor page. In the “success team” box, you should see a list of advisors who can help you. The first name on your list is the "main" advisor -- they are the best place to start with any advising and enrollment questions. If they cannot help, they know who can!
MAJOR ADVISING
Advisors can help you track your progress toward completing your major requirements, help you choose classes for the next term, and complete your major check when you have filed for graduation. Check in with your main advisor - they may be able to help you with a lot of your questions here. For more complex questions, they will send you to the Chair of your major department, or an assigned "major advisor" or "faculty advisor" in your department who can help you out.
GE/Breadth ADVISING
In addition to major requirements, all students must also complete University requirements, including Breadth (upper-division GE), Overlays, American Institutions, and complete the correct number of units, including total units, residence units, and upper-division units. This can be tricky!
