WE NEED YOU!

Not only do we need you but your peers need you! NCCPC and CSUEB are working together to help students work together to cross that graduation finish line. We are recruiting a team of 5 current college students to serve as student ambassadors who will carry out peer-peer support on campus and virtually, share social media content and develop relationships and resources to enable powerful peer-peer engagement. 

Ideal candidates are students attending 91短视频 located in Hayward, California who have a strong interest in supporting college success for historically underserved student populations, and are confident navigating the CSUEB experience.

2022 West Coast CAT: October 22-23 in San Francisco, CA

About

We're excited to be collaborating with 3rd Street Youth Center and Clinic to host our in-person happening on Oct 22 to Oct 23, 2022! Our Community Action Training (CAT) is an introductory training offering for activist and community leaders who are looking to deepen their knowledge and/or sharpen their organizing skills. We will dive into the different approaches to social change, get the opportunity to practice doorknocking, and more. We encourage participants to attend both days to get the full benefits of the training.

Due to COVID-19, masks are required for this in-person event.

Registration

The registration fee for our 2022 West Coast CAT is a sliding scale of $50-$125. Scholarships covering the full cost of the training are available if needed. If you wish to receive a scholarship, please email Rheema at rheema@ctwo.org with the subject line "Fall 2022 West Coast CAT Scholarship" for more information before registering for this event.

CAT is a prerequisite for our summer Movement Activist Apprenticeship Program (MAAP). MAAP is an 8-week intensive program that offers a unique opportunity for aspiring BIPOC organizers to learn the nuts and bolts of organizing and what it means to organize through a racial justice lens and build power that shifts the conditions in our communities. .

Science Educator Intern

Chabot Space & Science Center seeks candidates for the role of Science Educator Intern, a member of the Instructional Team in the Education Department. Education Interns are responsible for facilitating learning experiences for K-12 students and teachers. All programs focus on a learner-centered and inquiry-based approach to learning with an emphasis on open-ended experiences. Educators teach and facilitate on-site field trip workshops and summer camp programs, as well as present large group demonstrations, and support off-site events at schools and community venues. Workshops and programs range from 1-6 hours in length.

Key Responsibilities

For field trip workshops and summer camp:

○ Facilitate classroom and museum floor learning experiences for K-12 students around science learning and inquiry-based experiences

○ Plan and prepare all materials

○ Maintain classroom spaces

○ Modify experiences to fit the needs of the specific group as needed

○ Contribute to the ongoing content development

 

 

Teaching Fellowship at SF Day School

The Teaching Fellowship Program provides a unique and dynamic opportunity for aspiring/early career teachers to develop and hone their skills under the mentorship of experienced lead teachers. In addition to working directly with a Lead Teacher and grade level team, Teaching Fellows participate in professional growth as a cohort of learners. 

Within the Teaching Fellow cohort,  there are regular meetings and touchpoints throughout the year. The goal of the cohort is to enrich and deepen community connections, hone the Teaching Fellow’s craft of teaching, and delve deeper into specific learning and teaching approaches including Universal Design for LearningDiversity, Equity and Inclusion work, and Responsive Classroom. As Teaching Fellows gain more skill and understanding of their areas of interest, their responsibilities and experiences expand within the classroom and the school.

Teaching Fellow Position Overview

The role of a Teaching Fellow is a collaborative one. While the Lead Teacher shoulders the primary responsibilities for a class, both teachers are expected to plan together to deliver whole and small-group instruction across content areas, in-person and online as needed. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Participates actively in planning, teaching, and assessing student growth
  • Attends and contributes to team and faculty meetings
  • Supervise students in recess, lunch, Specials classes, dismissal, etc.
  • Supports parent-teacher conferences and report-writing
  • Substitutes for the Lead Teacher in their absence
  • Participates in school events such as field trips and outdoor education overnight

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1-2 years of experience supervising children, preferably in a school environment
  • Ability to work with multiple independent school constituents (students, parents, and colleagues) in a warm and empathetic manner
  • An understanding of and willingness to learn more about technology in the classroom
  • Experience collaborating with a team of adults to reach a common goal

Galileo Summer Camp Internship

Greetings from Galileo!

 

Summer is just around the corner, and we still have a few spots left for paid student internships. Galileo is a nationwide network of STEAM, project-based learning, and innovation-focused summer camps. We help foster the next generation of innovators, and we have fun while doing it. We still have openings for:

 

  • : Our Camp Counselors will take their small groups of campers from rotation to rotation and spearhead camper management and community building. 
  • : Focus on teaching one elementary-level subject (art, science, or outdoor play) to a specific age group for the entire summer.
