A dreamer's wish for divine intercession in our human suffering. A poet dreams a wish for divine intercession in order to discover the "why" of human suffering. In the dream, Indra's daughter descends to Earth and slowly discovers in scene after scene that men are truly pitiable. To understand the reason for this "illogical" state of affairs, she volunteers to become human. She discovers only too well the pains of being human. She retreats back to her realm, while the poet continues to fathom the mystery of the existence of suffering.
