Duck
Compared to chickens, the bones of duck were relatively rare at Yema-po; the bone remains of six ducks were found at the site (27 fragments, 25.2 grams).
During the late 19th century, ducks were expensive in China (360 wen or three and half day's pay). Despite the cost, a whole duck was almost always one of the dishes offered in important sacrificial rites. The ducks from Yema-po were probably consumed on similar special occasions.
