A morning paper Monday published a hideous article about the condition of the water of Lake Chabot. It alleged that a citizen, W. W. Dames, had been bitten on the lip by a reptile immersed in the populous water contained in a tumbler and recently emitted through a house faucet. Mr. Dames denies that he underwent such an ordeal . . . In truth, the water is no worse than is usual at this season of the year.
