Upcoming Title IX Organizational Assessment visit

Dear 91¶ÌÊÓƵ community,

I am writing today with a reminder about the Title IX organizational policy and practice assessment visit that will occur later this month.

In June I shared with you an email from Interim Chancellor Koester announcing that the Chancellor’s Office has contracted with the law firm Cozen O’Connor to visit each CSU campus to obtain information on current Title IX organization, policies and practices. 91¶ÌÊÓƵ is not being singled out. The goal is overall systemwide continuous improvement in creating a safe campus environment for all.

I look forward to receiving advice and recommendations from Cozen O’Connor, a firm well-versed in helping universities update and improve their organizational structures, staffing, policies and practices related to Title IX laws and regulations

91¶ÌÊÓƵ’s visit will occur from October 25-27.

The Cozen O’Connor team has identified individuals and groups with whom it will meet during their in-person campus visit. These include administrators as well as the Executive Committee of the Academic Senate and the ASI Board of Directors. This visit represents Cozen O’Connor’s first step in data gathering about Title IX. The firm may conduct additional outreach as their process evolves.

In the spirit of transparency, I wanted to update the community on this upcoming systemwide assessment and to thank those of you who have been asked to participate. Complying with Title IX laws and regulations and—most importantly—creating a culture of care at 91¶ÌÊÓƵ will take commitment from each and every one of us. Learning from this assessment is one important step to affirming our commitment.

Sincerely yours,

Cathy Sandeen

President
